Psychotherapy with Deborah M. Daily, LPC

Psychotherapy

To build a mutually cooperative relationship, Deborah develops a safe environment that is supportive, trustworthy, and accepting. She helps clients envision a future where today's problems seem manageable, using the client's personal strengths and experiences to bring about reasonable and realistic outcomes. Through the therapeutic process, she assists clients in seeing what may not be working and what practice to do more of - encouraging clients to experiment with new approaches to problems and entertain new possibilities. Deborah works with individuals to explore their immediate and long-term goals, creating individualized plans. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS). These therapeutic approaches are useful tools in helping clients deal with varying levels of trauma, relationship issues, anxiety and depression.

Integrated Approach to Therapy

Deborah's goal as an integrative psychotherapist is to facilitate wholeness, such that the quality of the person's being and functioning in the interpersonal and sociopolitical space is maximized with regard for the individual's personal strengths and personal external constraints. As a mental health practitioner, she embraces an attitude that affirms the inherent value of each individual; and, because a single approach to psychotherapy does not always provide the best benefit to the client, Deborah often uses tools borrowed from numerous therapies to create an effective form of treatment that is suitable and effective for the individual. Additionally, Deborah fashions an environment that is more inclusive of the client than traditional forms of therapy, where the client plays a less active role in treatment. Using this unifying type of psychotherapy, Deborah strives to respond appropriately and effectively to individual traits, preferences, and needs at the emotional, behavioral, cognitive, physiological, and spiritual levels of functioning.
