Encouraging Wellness through the Lymphatic Pathways
What is Lymphatic Drainage Therapy?
LDT is an innovative wellness therapy developed by Bruno Chikly, a medical and osteopathic doctor from France. Therapists are taught specific techniques to positively interact with the lymphatic flow within the body and facilitate beneficial circulation.
What are the benefits of LDT?
The greater part of an individual’s body weight is made up of water on average 60%. The Lymphatic fluid system is the secondary circulation system with the venous or blood system being primary. The lymphatic system is responsible for filtering impurities like germs, toxins, large proteins and foreign bodies out of the blood before they reenter the heart. Beneficial circulation of this system encourages:
• Healthy Immune system
• Natural detoxification
• Reduction of edema or inflammation throughout the body (arthritis, bursitis)
• Pain relief
• Management of Allergies
• Beneficial Circulation
• Natural Healing
• Healthy skin (improvement of conditions such as: wrinkles, cellulite, scars)
• Weight loss
• Greater Range of Motion (movement and flexibility)
• Natural Energy & Vitality
• Management of Diabetes
What can I expect during an LDT session?
In most cases, clients are treated fully clothed and lying covered on a comfortable massage table. Proper draping will be utilized when disrobing is essential to therapy. Your therapist will use gentle light movements on the skin to encourage proper flow and detoxification of each area of the body. The natural rhythm of LDT is extremely relaxing to the body and most individuals fall asleep at some point during the session. Improvements begin immediately and full benefits of LDT are realized within 2 days.
How long does a session last and how much does it cost?
Most sessions last no more than an hour. Half-hour sessions are a great way to receive the benefits of Lymphatic Drainage Therapy for half the hourly price. Hourly sessions are available for $70 and half-hour sessions are $45 by appointment Monday through Saturday. Health conscious clients may purchase multiple packages and get sizeable discounts.
LDT is not recommended for those with:
